Q: Company : How long have you been in business?
A: FDCservers.net LLC was incorporated in 2003

Q: Where is FDCservers located?
A: FDCservers datacenters are located in Chicago IL, and Denver, CO - USA

Q: How many servers are there in your facility?
A: We currently house over 5000 servers.

Q: What security do you have in place?
A:Chicago - The security in the CBOT is very extensive, including Security Guards and Video Surveillance throughout the building. In addition the building is patrolled by Chicago Police Officers. All Tenants of the building must have proper identification including photo I.D. to gain entrance to the building. All visitors must show proper identification and sign in at the Guards desk before gaining access to the building. A pass from the Office Of The Building is need to take any and all equipment out of the building.

Denver facility (indoors and all exits) is under 24x7x365 video surveillance. There are multiple access points that require magnetic cards and key codes to reach our datacenter. Access is allowed to existing customers only.

Q: Are your facilities manned 24x7x365 ?
A: Yes, we have staff present at all of our datacenters 24x7x365, maintaining customer helpdesk and monitoring our network.

Q: Do you provide SLA?
A: FDCservers.net does not offer any SLA however we do realize uptime is very important for our customers. Our average uptime has been %99.9

Q: What happens when I have a hardware failure ?
A: Hardware failures are unfortunately an unforeseen problem that can occur at anytime. Fortunately with FDCservers all dedicated servers hardware is replaced if it is found to be damaged. This ensures that you won't have to spend additional funds to repair your Dedicated server. Colocation customer have an option to ship the replacement hardware to us or can buy it directly from us for quick replacement.

Q: What kind of support do you provide for servers at your datacenter?
A: There is a web based helpdesk where customers can submit their support requests 24x7. Our techs can provide server reboots, OS reinstalls and general help if a customer looses remote connectivity to their server.

Q: What is the difference between colocation and dedicated server ?
A: With colocation you house your server hardware at our facility. With dedicated server you rent one of our servers

Q: What is the difference between dedicated server and virtual server ?
A: With Virtual server you share the bandwidth and hardware resources with other customers. With dedicated server you are the only customer using the server.

Q: Are your servers managed ?
A: No. We do however offer a managed services department for help with issues not handled through the helpdesk. The charge is $50 an hour with a 30 minute commit. You can get in contact with them by emailing help@fdcservers.net

Q: Since your servers are unmanaged what kind of technical support can I expect ?
A: We offer free manual reboots, OS reinstalls and general help if customer loses remote connectivity to the server

Q: How many IPs (IPv4) do I get with my server ?
A: 10Mbps server packages get up to 5 usable IPs free of charge. 100Mbps, 1Gbps and 10Gbps servers can get up to 60 IPs free of charge. Additional IPs can be provided for $1/IP/month. All IPs assignments requite usage justification based on ARIN rules

Q: How many IPs (IPv6) can I get ?
A: Each customer is assigned /48 of IPv6

Q: Can you route my IPs ?
A: Yes we can route your /24 and larger IP space free of charge

Q: Can you SWIP my IP assignment ?
A: FDCServers does not use SWIP. We use RWHOIS

Q: How do you handle RDNS ?
A: We can set individual PTR records upon request or we can delegate the RDNS to the customer directly

Q: Do you have phone sales?
A: Yes Phone sales is available from 12pm-5pm monday-friday. If you do not get someone live then leave a message with your name, phone number and details on what your looking to get answers about and someone will get back to you ASAP.

Q: NETWORK : Is your network multihomed ?
A: Our network is multihomed, using BGP4 routing protocol.

Q: What is your total internet connection capacity ?
A: Our network currently has 390Gbit/s connectivity to the internet.

Q: Is IPv6 available ?
A: Yes, we can provide our customers with both IPv4 and IPv6

Q: Who are your upstream providers ?
A: http://fdcservers.net/Network

Q: BANDWIDTH : What is unmetered bandwidth? Is it the same as unlimited bandwidth ?
A: Unmetered bandwidth means that customer does not get charged any extra bandwidth usage fees regardless of their bandwidth usage. Unlimited bandwidth does not exist as every internet connection has a certain limit of bandwidth available.

Q: Is your bandwidth shared ?
A: NO our bandwidth is DEDICATED.

Q: What kind of transfer speeds and how much data transfer can I expect for my server ?
A: We provide each server with enough port/bandwidth capacity to max out its connection 24x7x365. With exception of our ON/OFF peak specials you can expect

- 3TB IN + 3TB OUT per month with 10Mbps servers (if the connection is maxed our 24x7 for 30 days)
- 30TB IN + 30TB OUT per month with 100Mbps servers (if the connection is maxed our 24x7 for 30 days)
- 300TB IN + 300TB OUT per month with 1Gbps servers (if the connection is maxed our 24x7 for 30 days)
- 3PB IN + 3PB OUT per month with 10Gbps servers (if the connection is maxed our 24x7 for 30 days)
The transfer speeds are also affected by type of connection , speed, routing/peering and geographical location of subscribers using the server

Q: Can I ship my own hardware to be installed in your dedicated server ?
A: Yes however you need to check with our helpdesk first to ensure your hardware is compatible with our server. Also please NOTE that hardware shipped for one of our dedicated servers WILL NOT be returned, even if you cancel your service. If you want your hardware back we suggest you colocate your own server

Q: I heard you provide FREE Windows and Control Panels such as Plesk, Cpanel, Helm, Direct Admin. Do you ?
A: Yes we do offer one free dedicated server license per server with all 100Mbps, 1Gbps and 10Gbps server packages. 10Mbps servers get charged extra monthly fee for Windows and Control panels license.

Q: Do you sell external Windows and Control Panel license ?
A: NO. We only license servers located in our datacenters.

Q: Does FDC provide data backup service? If the hardware failure happens, do I get compensation for the data I lost?
A: All servers are unmanaged. You will need to backup your data locally to a secondary hard drive, a storage device, secondary server or an offsite storage. When the hardware failure occurs, we'll be able to replace the faulty parts for free, but we don't issue a refund or credit for your data loss.

Q: How can I renew my server or cancel my service with FDC?
A: All services are renewed automatically on a monthly basis. If you'd like to cancel your server, please open a ticket with billing dept at least 14 days before the due date to avoid the auto charge on your credit card.

Q: If I cancel my server half way through my billing cycle, am I entitled to a refund for unused time in the billing cycle?
A: Unfortunately no. All servers are renewed on monthly basis, therefore we can not issue any refunds for unused time in a billing cycle.
