I assume Level3 Bandwidth simply means that the bandwidth that your server will have will be using Level(3) uplink which is a well-known tier-1 Internet Services Provider. Regarding the bandwidth that you can push and the differences, there is another thread already opened: http://www.fdcservers.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=201

I am looking for server to hosr downloads on and need as much BW as possible for right price, I like look of the dedicated $149 option but need to know

- How is it managed
- How much BW I can get from it each month (In TB's)
- Exactly what level 3 means

- How is it managedhttp://www.fdcservers.net mentions: "FDCservers.net offers high-end unmanaged servers."

- How much BW I can get from it each month (In TB's)According to http://www.fdcservers.net/tos.html for 100Mbit unmetered servers, you can expect up to 30 TB/month inbound and 3000-5000 GB/month outbound.

- Exactly what level 3 meansAs I previously told you, Level(3) is an Internet Service Provider which FDCservers uses as uplink. Level(3) is having a quite good name in the market with a big network and a lot of peering connections. Level(3)'s web-site: http://www.level3.net/

If you have any further questions, I would recommend you to e-mail FDCservers Sales Department: sales@fdcservers.net

I thought this forum was for asking questions?

Thanks for the reply

When yo say 30tb inbound and 3-5 outbound, that woulld mean the 3-5 is for bandwidth used on downloads etc?

whatever1982,

Of course the forum is for asking questions but usually the official sales support is provided via e-mail to serve each person individually. The forum community is mostly used for us (the members) to help each other.

Inbound: client->server (downloading from internet to the server)
Outbound: server->client (downloading from the server to users)
http://www.cmu.edu/computing/documentation/faq_bandwidth/faq_bandwidth.html#define

So if you want to host a fileserver to offer files to people, you're interested for the outbound while if you're interested to download files from internet to the server, you're interested for the inbound.
