I am currently trying to decide upon a host for a dedicated server for the following purpose and was wondering if you thought your service would be appropriate for it:

VPN tunnel endpoint service. This service is provided to users behind firewalls or packet shapers so that they can use the applications of their choice from any internet connection at the maximum speed possible. At the time a user is logged in, they will be assigned an ip address with minimal firewalling (mostly against smtp and port scanning) so that in effect, they have a virtual network port in the same location as my dedicated server. Because each connected user would have their own ip address for the duration of the connection, I would need somewhere between 50 and 200 ip addresses for the server.

Because it can be expected that on occasion, some users may abuse the service, I would need the provider to forward any possible C&D orders that come in to myself, and I would take care of responding to them properly. I would need a provider that would not shut down my server at the first sign that one of my users may have used the service in an inappropriate fashion, but would instead work with me to resolve occasional problems. I provide a zero tolerance policy to spamming and hacking, and will not tolerate that abuse through the service I plan to provide.

Also, I was wondering if it would be possible to run an alternative OS that is specifically designed for high performance routing (star os, available at www.star-os.com). This OS installs in about 2 minutes on an average system, and the only configuration necessary at the datacenter would be to set the ip on the main network interface to the correct value, at which point I could handle any further configurations remotely.

Does this sound like a service that would be appropriate to run on your UNMETERED Dedicated - Special #3 service or your UNMETERED Dedicated - Special #2 service?

I would appreciate a response to funkywizard at gmail.com

Thank you.

I read it, and it made my head hurt. Thinking about legal issues and burdens of what he wants to happen, etc..
