I am looking at getting a MySQL server going that i will need for my site. What do I need to look for, do database servers need to be faster than others, how much ram do I need, my data base will be small to start, less than 1GB, but I hope it grows to over 146GB by the end of 2006.

Any help would be great

Strecker,

the p4 3Ghz machine that FDC offers is blazing fast and a good choice for DB serving.

your actually being quite a smartass by thinking you will have 40 million members. I wouldn't expect that kind of thing unless your a super spammer.

That's crazy. I've got what many think of as a large site with 25,000 members, but 40 million... That's just crazy....
