Hey all,
Does anyone know how to ensure that the promiscuous mode on our nic is disabled. My OS is Fedora Core 2.
I do know i can use "ifconfig eth0 -promisc" and then verify via doing "ifconfig eth0". however when i checked my /var/log/messages, it indicates that eth0 has entered promiscuous mode but did not leave it. Inaddition, when i run iftop i am seeing alot of unknow traffic which does not seem to be directed to any of my ips.
Hope someone would be able to advise me on how i can ensure my NIC is not on promiscuous mode.
I am on a Dedicated Server, Running Fedora Core 2.
