"The affected batteries could overheat, posing a fire hazard. Apple received four reports of these batteries overheating. No injuries have been reported. Apple urges you to stop using your battery and to order a replacement battery immediately. If you continue to use your battery, do not leave it unattended and check for signs of overheating."

hehe, I remember when the old PB1400's caught on fire from the over heating battery :eek:

WOW, strange. My friend had a dell and it would overheat all the time. like EVERYTHING on it would get hot including the lcd! he sent it back to dell and they sent him back a laptop twice as good as the orginal. 2.4 with ht 512mb ram all the goods !

Recently it was cellphone batteries exploding lol

My laptop is on almost 24/7 and is pretty hot
I cant keep it on my lap for more than 30 mins
Avg Temp is 55C..after crossing 70C, fan kicks in and cools it down

For the past 5 months, it was running at 85C+, gave it in for servicing last Oct ..They said, the system was totally clogged lol

Yeah Apple did that with the 1400's too, they came out with a model of the 1400cs for clear screen. It was a one inch wider LCD and I think the processor went up 40MHz.
