Yep I need one 2...

I got perl working. And MRTG is documented.. see the DOC folder.
But what are the data of the router or something i need to give in order to make the config file??

I have MRTG running on my server and it takes data from this XP machine, you need to install net-snmp for win32 http://net-snmp.sourceforge.net I believe. I also use this guide http://people.ee.ethz.ch/~oetiker/webtools/mrtg/mrtg-nt-guide.html

MQ-james when I install net-snmp i have to make a confi file rite?.. I use snmpconf -i they give me 3 options of confg files... I cant find any documentation about this.

Isn't there a default config file that I could use, if not . what kind of config file should I create.

When I try to create a default confige file for MRTG
I use the command:
perl cfgmaker public@127.0.0.1 --global "WorkDir: c:\www\mrtg" --output mrtg.cfg

I quess the ip should be 127.0.0.1/localhost... Sinds the snmp server is running local.

When I run:
perl cfgmaker public@127.0.0.1 --global "WorkDir: c:\www\mrtg" --output mrtg.cfg

It gives back:
" --output mrtg.cfg

I just installed MRTG on my home pc (yes i monitor my bandwidth for no reason at all) and i found the best way to install SNMP is to go to add and remove programs, then find windows components, then Monitoring Tools and select the 2 things there, Simple Network Managment Protocal and SMI SNMP provider, and that should make snmp work for you, because that looks like the problem your having is its not connecting...if you need some help setting it up i could do it for you over a vnc.
