how much do you guys pay for each dedicated 1000MBit line from cogent and level3?

Average is around $20,000 a month for a gige line (yes, ive looked into it LOL). HE.net had a sale once, $18/megabit. So that should give you a rough estimate of the costs per gige circuit. If you ever plan on getting anything like that, make sure your an LLC first, so if you bail out of the contract, they cant come take everything you own (would suck).

even if it were in pm that'd be fine. I'm just comparing the different providers and they never give price quotes on the websites lol.

Prices vary depending on your location also :). The closer you are to the acutal POP (or hub) that has the fiber, the cheaper it usually is in some cases. They dont list prices because it can vary so much. I might reccomend looking on WHT, as companies (HE.net, etc) list pricing on there (per megabit). Hope this helps some :).

if you have the bandwidth at the PoP and provide your own local loop it will be cheaper. Often the local loop is more expensive than the bandwidth (local loop being the connection between the point of presence and where the bandwidth is being sent to). I know someone got priced up for a T3 with WCG but the local loop was more expensive than the bandwidth as it would have had to of been an OC3 local loop because it's all the telco provided. I think Cogentco have 1gbit for $10,000 but cogentsp is around $20,000 cogentsp is service provider, so for people who do webhosting etc. and cogentco is for schools etc who use mainly downstream.
