under 'Account Functions' when i try to 'Create a New Account' it says Please setup a nameserver under Server Setup in WHM and try again!!! and then this
Missing NS Config Line in /etc/wwwacct.conf
and when i go to Nameserver Setup i get this

Name Server Activated
Ensuring caching-nameserver is installed
Using package directory: packages-5.3-release
Cannot find package caching-nameserver ...
Activating nameserver monitoring
chkservdStarting Nameserver
Attempting to restart named
Waiting for named to restart....

can anyone help ? i'm kind of a newbie any help would be appreciated!

try in ssh

/scripts/fixnamed
/scripts/rebuildnamedconf
service named restart

you might get failed on stopping it just restart it again :)


after you got your name server up

you may get rdns connection refused error

to fix this type this in ssh


/scripts/fixndc
service named restart


i hope that helps

i tryed this on fedora core 2 and it seemed to work

first of all i have freebsd
anyway i tried what you said and still didnt worked..the same error on cpanel

well it says there package isnt installed tryed installing the rpm from WHM list?

if it is i have no idea
