One of my servers got hacked and the hacker somehow was using up alot of ipz or something from our servers. The fdc people told us that this was happening. I checked the server (im not good with linux) and I though i saw an irc server running. So i told the FDC person to check that out. they did and they said it wasnt. and that they had fixed the problem. They put our server back online and the next day they shut it down again. Then they claimed that we were trying to run an irc server. and that they had terminted our account and all information on the server was gone. Can i get a solid response from one of the FDC members about what happened to that server. We had very valuable information on there. To me it appears that it was shut down for no reason.

It is very heart breaking to see something we put soo much time and effort into be removed due to miss comunication.

First of all, for an official response, you should do what ChronoCross already mentioned. However, I'll give you my opinion on the subject (if you're not interested, you may ignore it).

When you purchase a dedicated/virtual server, you're held full responsible for any activities it may get involved to it with or without your knowledge. That means you're the one who should make sure it doesn't get hacked/exploited and even if it does, you're the one who should patch/fix it. If you cannot restore it to previous state, you may simply request the ISP to reinstall your OS (which is free) so you can restart from scratch. At any case, I wouldn't expect FDCservers to check/fix my server, as they provide unmanaged services. This is yours or your sysadmin's job. Regarding your data, you're also the one who should keep frequent backups to prevent this from happening as FDCservers doesn't offer backup services.

So from what you previously stated, neither server was shutdown for no reason, neither it's ISP's fault if it got hacked, neither it's ISP's fault if you lost your valuable data.

Goodluck mate :)

" We had very valuable information on there."

Hard lesson learned but..........if it has value you should of backed it up, and "very valuable" should be back up 2 times.

Well i cant really back up the data because it was about 15 gigs. :-\ my download speed would take me a day or 2 to download and my upload speed would take a week or 2 to upload. i did save the databases and stuff. i understand it was my mistake. but im jus saying its common sense not to delete data like that because we would have gotten another server and transfered it from a server to server prolly at like 1mbps.

If it was valuable then it would of been worth it eh?
