I have never run my own server, and never used RedHat linux. I have always used reseller accounts to host my customer's sites
I need help getting this thing setup.
1.How should I do the initial config in cPanel when it is used for the first time?
2. How do I setup my nameservers?
3. How do I add my IP addresses to my IP pool?
4. Anything Else you think I should know.
Thanks,
Chris Walker

Q) Do u have a VDS or ded server?
Q) What kinda business u r planning to run. Reason i ask, is coz u selected Redhat9 as ur OS i believe which is discontinued and not much updates available. Preferably get a re-install done to Fedora Core 2 ( continuation of Rh9)
Now to answer ur Q's:
1&2) i can help you do that
3) If its vds , FDc tech has to add it for yah. If its ded server, u have to add it. You can add it in WHM, or from ssh prompt or using a 3rd party control panel such as Webmin
4) Install firewall ( preferably APF with BFD) and have some AV prog. installed. Monitor ur server for any unusual activities.Install bw monitoring prog such as MRTG to keep an eye on ur bw usuage

I am running a hosting business geared toward small business sites.
FDC gave me 3 ip's 2 for my nameservers and one for me to use on my main site for my SSL. Well 4 if you include the shared IP.
I chose redhat, because it was what my last host was using. Fedora is better?
What's easier to learn? I have never used linux or unix for that matter.
