Hey everyone, I just have a few questions about the dedicated servers.

First of all, I've never purchased anything like this so I want to know exactly what I can do with it.

1) Can I host an mmorpg game server on it that my players can connect to?
2) Can I pick what MySQL version I want?
3) Can I run programs on it or only upload/download?

Sorry if I have a completely wrong idea in what these are for, just thought I'd ask since this is my first time :D

yeah.. as long as you manage to install those programs/things you sure can do this. you can install whatever version of mysql or any other program you like.. thats your choice! same for gameserver.. why should it be forbidden to host a certain type of game? ;)

I dont think you will be able to get these things running, hee
Because you dont even have a clue what a dedicated server really is..
No offense, just wondering :)

Well, I know how to run my own server on a home computer, it can't be that difficult can it? XD If it is, I'll just ask a friend for help

also, the packages say you get a 100mbit dedicated server, but is it shared? I need a full 100mbit server for all the players I have on my game server.

The 100 Mbps package is shared bw.. a full dedicated 100 mbps bw will cost yah around $1-2k per month

I dunno abt FDC ded bw charges,couldn't find it on their website but its usually about 200-300 USD per mo ( quotes from other company)

10 mbps dedicated would be $150 ($15 / mbit -- unless their rates have changed)

It's something like 250 for dedcated 10mbit
