Named Problem

Named starts, and reloads just fine, but i cant access the sites on that server using the domains.
I'm unable to lookup the domains ip and such, do you know what could cause this?

this is not only for this domain, its for all domains hosted on this server.

and yes, named is running

nope, a dedicated server.
not hosted with fdc

check and make sure, thh ip's u assigned for ur ns1 and ns2 are added to ur dedicated system

they are, just the same as i use for ssh and such to it.
gonna try to reinstall the server now, might have been a gitch from the guys that installed cpanel or something, they did it before i could tell them not to

You running Linux RH, or FreeBSD? I have never gotton cPanel's Named to work properly with FreeBSD. NEVER :mad:

It was RH9, but bind didnt work there either, besides i needed a new kernel, and it was such a mess on fedora, so i upgraded it to fedora, compared configs and such to the other cpanel server i have, nothing unusual, and the weird thing is that i dont get any errors when starting it :S

EDIT: perhaps its a dns issue on ur isp side?. IF so, try using a this 3rd party dns on ur home pc.. Very reliable

yeah it loads now because i moved it to another server, until we get the dedicated one up.. i tried using another server as ns2, but it timed out while trying to get notifies from the server where dns is fcked

i get "May 15 23:37:05 phi named[5816]: zone **domainhere**/IN: refresh: failure trying master 66.111.219.212#53: timed out"
