I looked into doing image hosting, have lots of friends who get tired of places like Photo Bucket, etc with the "Bandwidth Exceeded!" messages :rolleyes:. I have tons of bandwidth to spare, just never found any good software, etc to do it with. Would have someone make me something, just dont care to spend the money. PhotoBucket's owner is the most uptight person ive ever seen, read there TOS, etc, he sounds like some control freek :rolleyes:.

I might try instlaling coppermine on my server again, finally got the license from EV1 and had my friend Authority Host install it (took 4 times :eek:). I love the black skin you have on it :cool:.

Mikron15, what theme/skin are you using? I installed Coppermine, works great, using the Fruity theme, its just... happy looking :jumpgrin:. I like Coppermine, but I wish I could upload entire folders, I cant figure it out :help: . I take thousands of pictures, and selecting them one by one.... isnt fun :nuts:. If anyone knows how, or another image program, please tell me :cool:. Thanks!

My default theme is Hardwired, i give the user/visitor to change the theme when ever they want using pull down menu

Yup, uploading lotsa pics is a pain in ass. It does allow uploading .zip files, but it says, once uploaded, it will still be compressed and not extracted..so i doubts usefull

All i could suggest you, since u have ssh axx,..tar the files..upload to ur Coppermin folder...and then extract to the user album folder

Question, I never use SSH much, when I do, its commands from instructions, etc. How do you extract .tar files via SSH? Just curious :help:.

chaz

.tar = tar xvf filename.tar
.tar.gz = tar zxvf filename.tar.gz
.tar.bz2 = tar jxvf filename.tar.bz2

Ive tried multiple software now. Each one has its pros and cons, I think im going to stick to Coppermine. I tried 2 others, but Coppermine is just so much more user friendly and looks better. Will try uploaded files in .tar folder and uncompressing them via ssh soon, so I wont have to upload 10 at a time :).

The only problem i found with coppermine is if you ever wanna become a paid host you've gotta spend quite a bit of money to mod it.

Spend money? How do you figure that? Coppermine is GPL'd so as long as you follow that license, you can mod it to your heart's content. The obvious is: You'd have to be proficient in PHP.
